Personal Development

Personal Development

So after talking with a new coach yesterday she mention to me you come across with such confidence how do you do that?  The truth is my entire life I lacked confidence never felt I met others expectations, always falling short, always trying to please others.  It was exhausting to say the least, so how did I get past it?

Personal growth

Even if you’re not a beach body coach but you’re looking to live a better life where you can offer more to others these would be a few of my top picks that I will share with you.  Also I will share with you up until last year at this time I can honestly say I never read a book from cover to cover, why because I hated reading and did not see a purpose in doing so.  I think a lot of it has to do with what your reading and if you enjoy reading.  As a coach personal development is one of the three vital behaviors and can sometimes be over looked by many.  If time is an issue invests in audio books and listen to your way to work.  I tend to like marking up my pages and having a place to refer back to.

As a new coach you see other top coaches and wonder how they got there??  Right?  I strongly suggest that new coaches read the The Compound Effect by- Darren Hardy
Overview of the book
The Compound Effect is based on the principle that decisions shape your destiny. Little, everyday decisions will either take you to the life you desire or to disaster by default. Darren Hardy, publisher of Success Magazine, presents The Compound Effect, a distillation of the fundamental principles that have guided the most phenomenal achievements in business, relationships, and beyond. This easy-to-use, step-by-step operating system allows you to multiply your success, chart your progress, and achieve any desire. If you’re serious about living an extraordinary life, use the power of The Compound Effect to create the success you want.
The Slight Edge- by Jeff Olsen
This book I was introduce to while in a challenge group, everyday its all about making those slight edge choices that compounded over time make the difference, where its the choice to do 10 more pushup today, send out 3 more invites, tell your loved one your thankful for what they do everyday, saving that extra 10 bucks rather then blowing it on something, what ever your personal goals are in wanting to live a better life.
Overview of the book
The Slight Edge is not just another self-help, motivation tool of methods you must learn in order to make it up the path of success. It simply shows you how to create powerful results from the simple daily activities of your life, by using tools that are already within you.
What do you need to make that happen? Discover that one thing that will help you achieve that goal, realize a life-long dream or propel you up the ladder to success.
Once you've got it, then you will discover how your philosophy... creates your attitude... creates your actions... creates your results... creates YOUR LIFE!
The Slight Edge is a way of thinking, a way of processing information that enables you to make the daily choices that will lead you to the success you desire. The Slight Edge is the key that will make all the other how-to books and self-help information that you read, watch and hear actually work.
If your someone that struggles with rejection and hearing no (I did) I wish I would of read this book sooner then I did.  This book is simple reading and the day it came in the mail I sat down in one sitting and read the entire book, I'm not a fast reader either but its short and affective for getting past rejections.
Go For No- by Fenton & Waltz
Overview of the book-
In a world inundated with sales books on getting to yes, this book recommends just the opposite, focusing on how increasing your failure rate can greatly accelerate your movement toward ultimate success. Go for No! chronicles four days in the life of fictional character Eric Bratton, a call reluctant copier salesman who wakes up one morning to find himself in a strange house with no idea of how he got there. But this house doesn t belong to just anyone! It belongs to him... a wildly successful, ten years in the future version of the person he could become if he learns to overcome his self-limiting beliefs and overcome his fear of failure. Through the dialogue of the two main characters the authors have fashioned an entertaining story to present the key concepts essential to sales success. Readers learn... ...What it takes to outperform 92% of the world s salespeople ...That failing and failure are two very different things ... Why it s important to celebrate success and failure ... How to get past failures quickly and move on ...That the most empowering word in the world is not yes... it s NO! Written to be intentionally short and to the point, Go for No! is a quick, fun read with valuable lessons that can change the way you think, sell, and live!
Next as new coaches and just people in general we struggle with time management.  How is it that some in life just achieve things on their list over and over and still have time to enjoy life?  Time management, with beachbody I could truly let this be my entire day but I don't I pick the highest action that big the biggest rewards and focus my time there.  I start each week with a list of what I will do to get there and never add on the list, also I start the day with the task I hate doing the most.

Made to Crave by-Lysa Terkeurst
Overview of the book
Made to Crave is the missing link between a woman’s desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment necessary to make that happen. The reality is we were made to crave. Craving isn’t a bad thing. But we must realize God created us to crave more of him. Many of us have misplaced that craving by overindulging in physical pleasures instead of lasting spiritual satisfaction. If you are struggling with unhealthy eating habits, you can break the “I’ll start again Monday” cycle, and start feeling good about yourself today. Learn to stop beating yourself up over the numbers on the scale. Discover that your weight loss struggle isn’t a curse but rather a blessing in the making, and replace justifications that lead to diet failure with empowering go-to scripts that lead to victory. You can reach your healthy weight goal – and grow closer to God in the process. This is not a how-to book. This is not the latest and greatest dieting plan. This book is the necessary companion for you to use alongside whatever healthy lifestyle plan you choose. This is a book and Bible study to help you find the "want to" in making healthy lifestyle choices.

Ok hang tight I have one more book as a new coach and what to be reading in the first six months.  Of course this book will be on leadership, whether you have zero coaches on your team or you are already creating stability with in your business leadership will come and with that how to be the best leader you can be.  This book is awesome if leadership is not your strong personality.

  1. Nice piece of information!!! Personal Development plan, can be defined because self-improvement. It is really a process of moving through point A to stage B in one’s own life and the actual course between the 2 points is usually regarded as in an upward path. Thanks for the nice article!!!
